"Two Soon To Be Men"

In the realm of becoming lives two boys,
Scorched by a world of experience, they share their joys,
I look at their young faces now, strangers before my time,
But I know I'd be there laughing alongside if I could just rewind,
Perhaps this turn I'd be the oldest, him the middle, him the runt,
We'd laugh just like we've always have, together, with love,
Maybe then my wisdom would land, for I'd have the most serious hand,
Two soon-to-be-men, sooner grown-up than I'd ever planned,
Perhaps then they'd finally listen, when I'd tell them all I can,
I could protect them in ways they never did me..
..if only I was the soonest to be a man.

"This Boy You See"

In the annals of boyhood sits a gold digger,
Joyous is he in the ignorance of childhood,
In less than 5 years he'll know the touch of death,
A decade after.. ..the mind of God,
He'll reach further in the stars than most will ever know,
Digging for a gold he swears falls like snow,
He'll feel spirits pass before they leave Earth,
It'll take him half a lifetime to find self-worth,
He'll break hearts that he'll wish to mend after,
He'll live broken unknowingly in a chain of plastered,
Broken men before him, who knew not a better way,
But this boy you see.. ..will keep on digging anyways.

"The Goodest Boy"

Shepherd Pumpkin Pinon, what a peculiar name,
A bowtie, a smile, a living legend that died without pain,
He'll pass the day abuelo did, you'll curse God, be vain,
You'll swear at the heavens, tell them it's time to change,
The sun will shine dimly, after, no day feels the same,
The clouds will stay silent, for your tears replace rain,
Yet smiles, on feet, knowing, the goodest boy's in a higher plane.

"Failing Star"

She'll be there in an extreme time of change,
Gone as fast as she arrived, you'll ne'er be the same,
You plead for a second chance, one that will ne'er arrive,
You'll ache to live in moments, with her by your side,
You'll shed mountains of tears before making buckets of sweat,
You'll change, she'll move on, but you'll never fucking forget.
The one who changed you, losing her, your biggest regret.
